After Cuba, which lies in the Caribbean, opening up for yaching tourism in the recent years, we now have the opportunity to experience original sailing - exploring far off from touristic infrastructure. Outside of the pictoresque Havanna, Cuba, which is so unique via it's morbid charme, we have the chance to experience a unqiue and dozy sailing area. Let us not have this opportunity pass by, who knows how long it is until mass tourism enters the scene.
Cuba, which is the largest island of the Caribbean, offers more than 2.9k seamiles of untouched, wild coastline with gleaming sandy beaches and fantastic natural lagoons. Those adorn one of the larget natural aquariums of the world. The famous "Cayos" offer the unique opportunity to see a wide variety of the beatiful animal life of the Caribbean. Flawless white sandy beaches, coco palm trees and a waterworld which is home to 500 breeds of fish and 50 breeds of corals surround the island
27 degrees are the average temperature over the whole year. The big advantage over other sailing areas is the fact that here you can sail the whole year, summer and winter only differ in the amount of rainfall. The difference in temperature only amounts to 5 degrees in the Caribbean. December to May is the dryest period, with rare, short and forceful downpours. The wind blows from east to northeastern direction over the whole year with a wind strength up to 5, only surpassed in the coastal area of St. Lucia, which is caused by the wind deflection.
